- Thank you for appearing on our show. First let me ask you about your studies. Where did you study? You started in Venezuela, right?
- I studied in Valencia, Venezuela in San Gabriel Arcangel High school and then I came to Caracas to study College.
- And where did you get your College title?
- At the Universidad Simón Bolivar as an Architect, and I did a master degree in interior architecture at Monash University in Melbourne.
-So you decided to stay in Melbourne…
- Yes, right now I´m living here in a green house near the beach designed by me.
- Tell me a little more about your current work
- The most important project I´m working on is a new ecological Restaurant named Mosh located in Barcelona Spain. Another thing I´m developing are 2 cafes: one in Bariloche Argentina and the other one in Caracas Venezuela. I’m having so much fun with those two.
- Why did you choose to build cafes?
- It is something I´m passionate for, I really love coffee shops since I was a little girl, besides that ,Venezuela where I come from, produces one of the greatest coffee beans in the world that’s why I chose Caracas to open one of my shops.
- And what projects have you done?
- I´ve made a lot of interior design more that architectural projects; there are some houses in New York and some stores as well as in SOHO.
- What about the future? What plans do you have?
- Next year I´m planning to move to Greece to start my biggest creation: a boutique hotel ranging between 20 to 30 guest rooms, that would be focused on offering a comfortable, intimate, and welcoming service.
- Why did you choose Greece?
- I think Greece is a gorgeous country, it has beautiful beaches and a great weather as well, besides that I think Greece needs some modern things and I hope my Boutique hotel could bring that.
- What do you think is the biggest problem facing Venezuelan architecture?
- The organization, most Venezuelan people are truly disorganized starting with the government, first of all we need to change our way of thinking if we want to evolve, not only in architecture but also in the other things.
- What do you think is the solution to this?
- The only solution is in the education we need to make some changes, because before we can fix all our problems we have to change our way of thinking.
